The e-Learning Center (eLC) supports current, state-funded, e-learning
activities at the University of Baltimore. The eLC uses its private
resources and grant funds to stimulate the further development of e-learning
at UB through activities directed at faculty, staff, and students. The
e-Learning Center:
- Administers UBOnline, the e-learning environment at UB, and maintains
UB’s fully online and web-enhanced courses. With the implementation
of PeopleSoft, the eLC’s role has expanded to include the integration
of the e-learning environment with the administrative systems environment
and a campus-wide portal
- Provides a state-of-the-art course management system, a stable and
redundant server environment, 24/7 user support, and training for
faculty and students through a combination of campus-based and contracted
resources
- Offers one-on-one and small-group e-learning tools training
- Communicates with the UB campus community through periodic reports, bulletins, and email
- Sponsors workshops and conferences to bring leading thinkers and
practitioners in the e-learning field to UB to interact with faculty,
staff, and students
- Seeks gifts and grants to UB for the enhancement of e-learning
- Seeks opportunities to collaborate on e-learning initiatives with
other educational institutions, learning organizations, and technology
partners
