Sakai Migration

The e-Learning Center and Office of Technology Services have been working diligently preparing for the University of Baltimore’s transition from WebTycho to a new platform in time for Summer 2011. While recent months have been busy with research, planning, and procurement, the next steps for the e-Learning Center include configuring the new environment, converting hundreds of courses, and developing training programs that will begin in the spring.

Please note the following conversion details:

  • Fully Online Courses: Instructors should identify one version of each fully-online course they teach to be converted. Conversion will include the course syllabus, course content, and quizzes or tests that use the WebTycho assessment tool but not conferences or the gradebook.

  • Hybrid Courses (courses where faculty and students meet in a classroom for part of the required number of minutes; the remainder of the class is conducted online using WebTycho): Instructors should identify one version of each hybrid course they teach to be converted.

  • Blended Courses (traditional face-to-face courses that use WebTycho to supplement instruction): We will help where we can; instructors requesting conversion help with a blended course should contact the e-Learning Center.
